The AGM opened on Friday night with usual procedural matters. We received greetings from the City of Saskatoon presented by Ann Iwanchuk.  The meeting moved on to the United Way Community Service Award. This year's winner is Marilyn Barlow, from SUN.

The following day we heard from panels.  We started out with the panel "Gender Violence Against Women", moderated by Andrea Howe. On the panel was Lori Johb from the SFL, Heather Pocock from the Saskatoon Sexual Assault Centre, Dave Shanks from the Students Commission, and Nadia Stadnyk from Family Service Saskatoon.  The shared information about what their organizations do, and how they support women in different roles.  It was very emotional for a lot of people to hear about what women have faced, and how damaging it can be.

After the panel we heard from Darla Deguire from the CLC, Lori John from the SFL, and from David Forbes, MLA speaking about what they and their organizations are doing for workers across Saskatchewan and Canada.

In the afternoon we were treated to a debate between 2 NDP leadership contestants, Trent Wotherspoon and Ryan Meili. It was exciting to hear their visions for our party, and see what we could expect once we are elected to government.

I was re-elected 2nd Vice President of the Labour Council. Thank you to those who supported me at the AGM.
